Why learn about this impactful campaign?
The documentary Cruz and its impact campaign #WithoutLandWeAreNoOne are a collective effort involving the film’s protagonists and the Colectivo del Manzano y Monterde in Chihuahua. Their goal is to raise awareness about internal forced displacement and the lack of access to justice in Mexico. The campaign aims to make visible the reality of internally displaced communities and to mobilize support so that Indigenous peoples can live with dignity on their own land, with their customs and traditions intact. Social documentary film is used here as a tool to influence decision-makers and government agencies that deal with the cases of displaced families.
The team joined the Collective of Victims of Forced Displacement and Civil Society Organizations to advocate for the immediate approval of the General Law on Forced Displacement. They also supported the protagonists by helping raise funds for legal action, providing psychological support, and accompanying them in their pursuit of a better quality of life.
